
Select under References the references you want to list (choices are Quick List, All Reference, a personal group or a shared group).In the EndNote Basic menu bar, select Format, and click Bibliography.To create a reference list independently of a paper, follow the steps below: Insert & Exclude Author or Insert & Exclude year: You do this by clicking on Insert and then choosing for: Sometimes it is useful to leave the author out of the citation, Leave the cursor in place and use Insert Citations to select a new reference each time. If this is the case, it might be faster to Export/Import a RIS file Export a RIS file, then Import it into EndNote Basic Some users have found the search to be slow. Remember if it is a database that needs a subscription, UA Libraries must subscribe otherwise, you can't use it. There are many online databases and websites that can be searched from EndNote Basic. Otherwise, you would be forced to manually enter the information. When this happens, you might want to import a RIS file or use the online search in EndNote Basic if you can. The form will appear, but you would need to enter or edit every field. Sometimes the Capture button does not work well – even when using some partner websites. The webpage provides instructions about installing it. For other browsers, you must use the capture bookmarklet.


For Internet Explorer, this button can be installed the same time as Cite While you Write. Capture ButtonĬan be found using Downloads from the EndNote Basic menu.
